Almere and Haarlemmermeer join the Expat Center Amsterdam

As of 10 February 2010, companies based in Almere and Haarlemmermeer can now make use of the Expatcenter’s “one-stop-shop” services for their highly skilled migrants.
The mayors of Amsterdam, Amstelveen, Almere and the Haarlemmermeer, along with the Director of the Immigration and Naturalization Service (IND) signed the official covenant at a gathering on 10 February 2010 at the Expatcenter. The addition of the municipalities of Almere and Haarlemmermeer is an important step in the Expatcenter’s role as a regional office serving the needs of international companies in the greater Amsterdam area.

Meanwhile the IND offers an alternative solution. You can download application forms from this page. For now, the forms are only available in English. In the event of technical malfunction or problems caused by the new procedure, please contact arbeid@ind.minjus.nl.

Expat Center in The Hague

On 1 February 2010 the Municipality of The Hague will start an Expat Center pilot project. The pilot project will last 1 year. Ten companies have already been selected and approached for this project. The Expat Center will be based at the Stadhoudersplantsoen location in The Hague.
Income requirements highly skilled migrants as from 1 January 2010

The IND has announced the income requirements as from January 2010:
a gross annual income of at least € 50.183, or € 36.801 if the migrant is under thirty.
Fee changes as from 15 November 2009

State Secretary for Justice Albayrak has implemented an increase in the fees to be paid by customers for a residence permit in the Netherlands.
This increase is to result in a higher recovery ratio in respect of the costs incurred by the Immigration and Naturalisation Service (IND) to grant residence permits. We would therefore like to draw your attention to an increase in the fees for, among other things, applications for highly skilled
migrants (see the table below).

The fees for an application for initial admission remain unchanged. If a highly skilled migrant enters the Netherlands with a valid Regular Provisional Residence Permit, the fees will continue to be € 188. If a highly skilled migrant enters the Netherlands without a valid Regular Provisional Residence Permit, the fees will continue to be € 331. The fees will also remain unchanged for family members
